Position Summary Responsible for the successful planning and execution of complex, multi-departmental business, operations, practice and organization development projects. Lead independent and organization-wide teams through the definition, development and implementation of project plans, critical business processes and systems solutions. Develop project work plans, create timelines, complete project status reports and facilitate project team meetings, with the intention of maintaining project progress.
Job Responsibilities - Oversees projects through all phases of the project life cycle, including initiation, requirements and specifications, design, testing, implementation and post implementation review to approved budget, scope and schedule.
- Oversees the discovery/chartering efforts at the beginning of each project. Develops project charters and plans as needed.
- Reviews business requirements and may assist in translating requirements. May provide analytical support to other team members and internal client groups in defining requirements.
- Manages resource planning to ensure adequate distribution of work and overall effectiveness. Tracks resource utilization relative to overall project budget.
- Provides stakeholders with the status updates, issues, key activities and any changes to the scope of the overall project.
- Manages risk throughout the project life cycle and makes contingency plans to manage issues that pose risk to budget, timely delivery or functionality.
- Leads and participates in project review reporting processes, including analysis and preparation of project dashboards, metrics, and materials to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Develops metrics/reports to monitor strategic goals & initiatives. Assists with practice review focused on practice management improvement, provide efficiency and revenue optimization. Reports on this data on a regular basis.
- Assists with business development and strategic expansion initiatives. Recommends potential solutions for completing and designing work plans in resolution of strategic project goals.
- Sets project management timelines and manages stakeholder expectations, proactively resolving conflict to successfully meet project timelines and deliverables.
Education - Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare is highly desired.
Approximately 5 years of project and planning experience in a Healthcare and/or Managed Care environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Healthcare and practice operations
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to make decisions independently.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
- Ability to develop a professional level of cooperation and collaboration amongst various levels of the organization.
- Ability to deliver projects on time and on schedule.
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff members.
- Savviness to get things done both through formal channels and informal networks.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in comparing and evaluating options and approaches to analyses or project management, including possible courses of conduct, and acting or making a decision after the various possibilities have been considered.
- Synthesizes complex information to communicate project deliverables and recommendations to senior management.
