Job Description

The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire a Neuropsychologist to work in the UW Medicine Regional Epilepsy Center at Harborview Medical Center. This is a full-time appointment and is a Open rank (without tenure for reasons due to funding). The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience. This position will primarily serve patients of the UW Medicine Memory and Brain Wellness Center, although they will also participate in epilepsy and general neuropsychology assessments consistent with the needs of the Neuropsychology Laboratory. Will also be responsible for preparing appropriate reports and providing feedback to personnel and patients. Clinical duties are adjusted from year to year on the basis of the service needs of the department and level of funded research effort. This person will also collaborate with members of our UW Medicine Memory and Brain Wellness Center, and other programs in neurology and neurological surgery in developing, or participating in a clinical research program. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. This position will require active participation in clinical and teaching programs.  Your responsibilities will include active participation in direct patient care as well as teaching and administration. 

Assistant Professors are  eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $8,924 - $11,112 per month ($107,088 to $133,344 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Associate and Full Professors hold  indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  The base salary range for this position in this title will be $11,685 - $20,595 per month ($140,220 to $247,140 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.

Salary is commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date is negotiable but not later than July 1 2025.

  • PhD or PsyD in counseling or clinical psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology (or foreign equivalent)
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in state of Washington.
  • Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology
  • In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
