Are you passionate about keeping online communities safe and fostering positive online environments? We are seeking a German-speaking Content Moderator to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid model, with 2 days on-site in our Malta office and 3 days working remotely from home. No prior experience is required, though it’s a bonus if you have some background in content moderation or a related field.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Content review and moderation : Review and moderate user-generated content (posts, comments, images, videos) to ensure compliance with community guidelines, policies, and legal requirements.
  • Identify and act on harmful content : Actively monitor and remove inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content, ensuring the online platform remains safe for all users.
  • Maintain high accuracy and consistency : Ensure that all decisions related to content moderation are made in line with internal policies and that they meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Reporting violations : Escalate complex issues or repeated policy violations to the appropriate teams and provide detailed reports when necessary.
  • Contribute to a positive online environment : Help foster a safe and inclusive online space by enforcing guidelines and contributing to the overall user experience.
  • Collaboration with teams : Work closely with fellow moderators, customer service, and legal teams to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the moderation process.

Your Profile :

  • Fluent in German : You must be fluent in both written and spoken German to effectively moderate and communicate regarding German-language content.
  • Good communication skills in English : English is essential for team collaboration and internal communications.
  • Attention to detail : Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to your work is crucial for reviewing and moderating content.
  • Problem-solving skills : Ability to make quick decisions in complex situations, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Ability to work independently : Comfortable managing tasks with limited supervision, especially when working remotely.
  • Experience in content moderation or similar role : While not mandatory, any prior experience in content moderation, social media management, or online community engagement is beneficial.
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding : A good awareness of cultural norms and sensitivities in Germany, to effectively moderate user content within that context.
